As the group description states: "This list is to help facilitate communications between people on
Maui who are friendly toward polyamory attitudes of love and relationships, and who would like to
meet, network, and get to know each other through informal gatherings or activities--with no dues, no
membership fees, no 'leaders'..."
There are a few simple guidelines:
1. Be pleasant. If you can't be pleasant, at least be respectful. If you can't be respectful, ignore it. If
you can't ignore it, then it's time to take it to private e-mail.
2. This mail list is semi-private. Just about anyone can join, but that doesn't mean that posts here can
be posted elsewhere -- please get the author's permission first. The same applies in reverse; NO
POSTING OF PRIVATE MAIL TO THE LIST, without the author's permission. If you violate another's
privacy in this way, you may be expelled from the list.
In this vein, our archives are also semi-private, open only to the moderators. The archives are locked,
so that people cannot subscribe with the sole intent of harvesting the archives for personal
information. Some polyamorous people have had their relationship styles used against them in child
custody cases, for example. We want to keep that possibility less likely here.
NOTE: This means that you cannot read Poly-on-Maui through the web interface, but must receive it
via email.
3. Please keep this mailing list "on topic" as best you can. As examples, please do not post the latest
humor files or urban legends or virus scares.
4. Please, no personal ads.
OK..., so much for rules and guidelines. Hopefully, fun activities will occur, we'll meet and get to know
each other, networking will happen!!
